sunrise

I saw the sunrise this morning...it's been a long time since i've seen one. for whatever reason i had forgotten how creative God is concerning sunrises. it was gorgeous. There were pinks, purples, oranges, yellows, light blues and every shade in between. I had to leave home at six and i was driving east which meant i enjoyed the sunrise the entire way. I was even blessed with many red lights so i could stop and watch how the clouds changed colors as the sun rose. It was beautiful. God is incredible.

On a totally different note, i wanted to share some pictures from recent days. these are just a few. Life has been very busy. Good, but very full.
this past weekend we took some teens to a youth conference and it went really well. The teens(and me!) were reminded that life is not about us; but Christ. Our lives are the earth and vessels that God uses to serve others and tell them about Christ. Then one of the sessions a godly man shared practical ways to share the gospel. All the while sharing the gospel with the teens who were there. It served 2 purposes. the games and food were great as well.
It's the same youth conference Charlie used to go to as a teenagers which makes it fun for him to go back and visit.
this first pic is of a taco eaten by one of our teen boys. Josh was dared by some the teen girls to eats this taco with 11 "fire hot" packets poured on the taco. all the while not drinking anything. Being the likable and sweet boy that he is-he took the challenged and won! His eyes were burning!

these pictures were taken this past week when i took E & E out to tie heartstrings. Meaning we had a full week of school, training, more training, disciplining, more disciplining, correcting and more disciplining that it became apparent we needed to spend some fun time together. So we headed to a"Manly Man's" type of store and sat in every fishing boat they had on display. Spent lots of quarters on a shooting/hunting game and then enjoyed a shamrock milkshake. We had a blast! Life is good.

notice i gave the boys a haircut. didn't plan on taking 3 1/2 inches of hair off of little E's head--it just sota happened.

Been to that manly man store - you reminded me of it - should go again soon! Love the haircuts - you did a good job...that's the joy of boys....it's ok to go short! =)

Saw the sunrise too....our bedroom patio door faces East, and we have a line of woods behind the house. My couch is positioned just so I can sit and do my devotions - glancing up to enjoy God's glory in front of me....this mornings was excellent!!! =)

Love to you, Julie!
