Egypt

This week we have been studying early Egypt. Yesterday we did an activity to teach about the mummification process. The boys tried it out on their stuffed animals! (Poor Buzz Lightyear!) First, we had to cut out the brain because back then they thought it was a useless organ. They believed the thinking was done with the heart. Then we took the liver, stomach, lungs and intestines out. Then we used spices--we used cinnamon and baby powder :) to embalm the bodies. Then we wrapped them in special linens to ensure preservation! :)
We then mummified Ethan!
The boys and I had so much fun!
